Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is likely to visit Pakistan next month trendy blogger

Islamabad:

Diplomatic sources revealed on Thursday that Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is expected to visit Pakistan in the first week of October, in his first official visit to the country.

Anwar Ibrahim will be accompanied during the visit by a high-level delegation. This will be the first visit of a Malaysian Prime Minister to Pakistan in five years, and the last visit of former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad was in March 2019, during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government.

Diplomatic sources reported that a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding are expected to be signed between the two countries during the visit. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will hold meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other senior Pakistani leaders.

Discussions will focus on promoting bilateral trade and investments. The two sides are also expected to take up the Palestinian issue, as both Malaysia and Pakistan are strong supporters of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The visit confirms the growing relations between Pakistan and Malaysia, especially in the areas of economic cooperation and common diplomatic priorities.
