KARACHI: After 76 years of occupation, exile, captivity, murder and brutal war crimes committed by the Zionist regime, Hamas and other Palestinian resistance factions in Gaza carried out the Al-Aqsa Storming Operation against the Israeli regime on October 7, 2023 to end the occupation. Occupation, eliminating massacres and brutal crimes against humanity. This decision was taken by the leaders of the Resistance Front and the people of Palestine and Gaza.
The Islamic Republic of Iran, like the rest of the world, learned about this operation through the media. But in continuation of Iran’s principled permanent policy of supporting the Palestinian people to end the occupation of their lands, it has helped Hamas and other Palestinian resistance groups.
In response to this act, the Zionist regime, with the full support of the United States and some other Western countries, committed an unprecedented genocide of the oppressed Palestinian people by slaughtering more than 42,000 innocent people, including children, women, and the elderly. While the international authorities and the international community remained silent and indifferent in the face of this horrific situation.
This criminal regime has destroyed all infrastructure including; Schools, hospitals, ambulances, killing hundreds of rescue teams, aid workers and journalists in Gaza and the West Bank, and most recently continuing the unparalleled crime of genocide in Lebanon, violating all international rules and regulations and human rights.
The world is witnessing massacres, the killing of children, human rights violations, violations of sovereignty and territorial integrity, the use of weapons of mass destruction, cyber, technological and digital terrorism, and the violation of diplomatic norms through the invasion of embassies and the demolition of cultural and corporate institutions. The spiritual heritage of humanity. The American and Western authorities consider all these crimes against humanity as an execution of justice by this barbaric regime.
On the day the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran was sworn in, the Zionist terrorist regime assassinated Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political wing of Hamas and former Prime Minister of Palestine, who was an official guest of Iran in Tehran, in flagrant violation of all international regulations and state sovereignty. Given the Islamic Republic of Iran’s violation of jurisdiction, countermeasures were an inherent, legal and enforceable right of Iran in accordance with international law.
After Gaza, the Zionist regime expanded its aggression into Lebanon on September 27, 2024, dropping 85 one-ton American bombs and assassinating Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, leader of the Lebanese Hezbollah, along with other innocent civilians. In addition to Hezbollah fighters and civilians, Sardar Abbas Nilfaroushan, the Iranian chief military advisor in Beirut, was also martyred in this terrorist operation.
As a result, and after two months of restraint, the Islamic Republic of Iran launched a missile defense operation, within the framework of the rules of international law and Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, in response to the aggressive actions of the Zionist regime, including the violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity with the killing of the martyr Ismail Haniyeh and the massacre. Against the Lebanese people and the injury of the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Lebanon by detonating pagers on the evening of Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
Unlike the Zionist regime that targets civilians and public infrastructure, the Islamic Republic of Iran, in accordance with moral principles and Islamic law and in full compliance with the principles of international humanitarian law, targeted only the military and security bases that were responsible for the genocide in Gaza and Lebanon with a defensive missile attack. More than 90% of the identified targets were hit, consistent with the operation’s objectives.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has never invaded the territory of another country, because it has always supported regional and global peace and stability. But it is serious about implementing the inherent right to legitimate defense against any aggression. Iran’s retaliatory action has now ended, unless the Israeli regime continues its aggression in violation of Iran’s sovereignty or other dangerous misadventure, wishing to see further reactions.
In this case, the Iranian response will be stronger and more severe, because the Islamic Republic of Iran has the capacity and ability to respond strongly and decisively to any violation of its lands and interests.
America and the Zionist regime’s Western backers should stop arming and financially supporting the Israeli regime in the first step, instead of using speech therapy, to prove their claim of preventing a large-scale regional war.
The Zionist regime considers that the only way to save itself is a comprehensive regional and international war with the participation of the United States. Therefore, Israel’s supporters, especially the United States, are now more responsible for stopping the war. However, in view of the ongoing ceasefire negotiations between Hamas and the Zionist regime and in response to the requests of many countries and in order to partially alleviate the suffering of the defenseless people of Gaza, the Islamic Republic of Iran exercised its right to self-determination. – Defending with restraint and delaying until the outcome of the ceasefire negotiations.
The international community, especially Islamic countries, while taking immediate measures to condemn the brutality of the Zionist regime, should fulfill its overdue duties to end the aggression and genocide committed by the Israeli regime in order to mitigate the anger of Islamic countries, which is ready to explode.
