Imran Khan, founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, has urged his party to prepare for a nationwide street movement, declaring that the struggle is necessary to protect the country’s freedom.
Speaking to reporters at Adiala Jail on Thursday, Khan said: “Our movement is a jihad for democracy. I call on the entire nation to take to the streets to save our freedom.”
Khan accused special judge Humayun Dilawar of being behind the imprisonment of him and his wife, Bushra Bibi. “Humayun Dilawar was given land worth billions for his decisions against us. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa anti-corruption department has all the evidence, but now the FIA has filed a case against them.”
He also criticized Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi, alleging that Naqvi was rewarded with key posts including Home Ministry and PCB chairmanship for his role in the government’s crackdown on the PTI movement. “Naqvi committed the worst atrocities against us, including the brutal killing of Zail Shah by police. His body was dumped on the road and an FIR was lodged against me,” Khan said.
Khan also condemned Chief Justice Justice Faiz Isa, accusing him of protecting those responsible for suppressing the PTI movement. “Judge Issa stripped us of our electoral symbol and refused to hear our petitions regarding human rights violations.”
The former Prime Minister expressed concerns about election rigging, saying, “The former Rawalpindi Commissioner held the Chief Justice and Election Commission of Pakistan responsible for the rigging, yet Chief Justice Isa will be given an extension.”
In parallel with the historical events, Khan likened the current political situation to the situation that prevailed during the reign of Yahya Khan, accusing the powers that be of giving priority to personal interests at the expense of the nation.
“Nawaz Sharif was kept under control out of fear, otherwise he would have fled long ago. The entire nation must rise up to the street movement to preserve our freedom,” Khan urged, adding that the rule of law was essential to attract investment into the country. Pakistan.
He concluded his speech by announcing that PTI’s street protest plans would be revealed soon, while also highlighting ongoing injustices, including the kidnapping of Saadullah Baloch’s wife and daughter. “They entered the councils and arrested parliamentarians. This had never happened before, and the imprisonment of my wife is illegal.”
