Islamabad: In a major step towards improving digital services and accessibility, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has signed an e-payment portal and secured an agreement with the Bank of Punjab (BoP).
According to a NADRA spokesperson, this agreement is expected to streamline digital payments for a wide range of NADRA services, further simplifying access for millions of citizens.
In an official ceremony, the agreement was signed by Rahman Qamar, Chief Project Officer at NADRA, and Nofal Daoud, Chief Digital Officer at Bank of Palestine. A press release issued here on Friday said that the event was attended by senior officials from the two organizations.
In his remarks, the President of NADRA expressed the importance of this partnership, stressing that the cooperation will enable NADRA to enhance the delivery of its services through safe and efficient electronic transactions.
“This partnership will ensure that citizens can now access our services more easily through reliable and seamless digital payment options,” he said. “The agreement is part of NADRA’s commitment to improving public service efficiency by integrating modern financial technologies.”
Zafar Masood, President and CEO, Bank of Punjab, highlighted the alignment of this initiative with the broader vision of expanding digital banking across the country.
“Our goal is to provide innovative and secure payment solutions that empower citizens. This collaboration with NADRA will not only improve service delivery but will also encourage the adoption of digital payment systems nationwide, contributing to Pakistan’s journey towards a digitally enabled future.”
This strategic partnership comes at a time when the importance of digital transactions and electronic governance in providing efficient public services is increasing. Through this initiative, citizens will have the ability to pay for NADRA services online, reducing reliance on traditional cash-based methods and reducing delays in service processing.
Integrating Bank of Palestine’s secure payment systems with NADRA services is expected to enhance transparency, accountability and ease of access, ensuring a smoother experience for users across the country.
This agreement represents a significant milestone in the efforts of both organizations to digitize service offerings, and contribute to the growing e-government infrastructure in Pakistan.
