  • SNGC MD says gas demand increases three times in winter.
  • Amer Tufail says restrictions on new gas delivery will continue.
  • He says SNGC does not take subsidy from the government.

LAHORE: Despite the three-fold increase in gas demand during the winter, SNGC will ensure gas supply during meal times, General Manager of Sui North Gas Company (SNGC) Amer Tufail said on Tuesday.

He pointed out during his speech that “people themselves must reduce gas consumption because the commodity has become expensive,” referring to the shortage of the commodity. Geographic News.

Tufail warned against using the compressor device that absorbs gas, and said that using the compressor is illegal and causes accidents.

He added that restrictions on new gas connections will continue despite the presence of more than three million requests for new connections pending.

The SNGC MD also said that SNGC was a self-reliant company and did not get support from the government.

Gas shortages have been haunting Pakistan for decades, resulting in permanent gas elimination for households.

In recent years, gas load shedding has become a major political and social concern. More than industry, it is gas supply to homes that has been flagged as a problem.

This is despite the fact that only 22% of households obtain gas through pipes, while the rest use cylinders or other means to ignite the flame. News I mentioned last month.

Pakistan holds 0.4% of the world’s gas reserves and accounts for 1.1% of global consumption, according to country reserves data from Worldometer.

Gas is distributed via pipelines to households that account for 50% of the available supplies, followed by the fertilizer sector, independent power plants, industry and compressed natural gas sectors.

Since the 1950s, natural gas has been the fuel of choice for households across large and medium-sized cities in Pakistan connected to the gas supply grid.
