KARACHI: Pakistan Arts Council Karachi is currently celebrating the 38-day ‘Karachi World Culture Festival’ and on its 29th day, an enthralling event titled ‘Flavours of the UAE’ was held at John Elia Park, a press release said.
This evening showcased the rich culture of the United Arab Emirates and was honored by the presence of the Consul General of the country in Karachi, Dr. Bakhit Atiq Al Rumaithi, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Sindh, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, and the Chairman of the Pakistan Arts Council. The venue included an Arab cultural tent, where attendees could enjoy a variety of delicious Arabic dishes, including coffee, date tea, sago, luqaimat, khabisah, balaleet, mukhi, jabab, and other delicacies. The rare white falcon attracted the attention of the audience, while the traditional sword dance added to the atmosphere of celebration, while the attendees enjoyed live Arabic music.
In his speech, UAE Consul General Bakhit Atiq Al Rumaithi expressed his gratitude to Ahmed Shah and Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah for providing a platform to showcase Arab culture to the people of Karachi.
He highlighted the warmth and hospitality of the Pakistani people, noting their deep connection with the culture and people of Sindh. He also announced plans to hold a festival in the UAE to promote Sindhi culture in cooperation with the Pakistan Arts Council in Karachi and the Sindh Culture Department.

He said that the UAE Consulate’s organization of an evening reflecting the culture of the UAE at the Arts Council in Karachi is commendable. Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have fraternal relations, and today Bakhit served various Emirati dishes to the citizens of Karachi. Such programs strengthen cultural ties and our friendship will go a long way.
