Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs comes out of locker room and lashes out at reporter over social media criticism Trendy Blogger

It’s never easy walking into a losing NFL team’s locker room after a close loss in terms of postgame media availability, with players working through frustration, among other emotions. It was no different Sunday in the Bay Area after the Dallas Cowboys suffered their fourth straight loss to the San Francisco 49ers – this time a 30-24 loss.

In fact, emotions were flowing before the media was allowed into the Cowboys locker room as Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs came out early to directly confront WFAA’s Mike Leslie, sports anchor and reporter for the local ABC affiliate in Dallas. Leslie tweeted the following during the game when 49ers tight end George Kittle ripped off a 43-yard catch-and-run: “What is Trevon Diggs doing on this play?

Leslie confirmed in a reply under the post that he was criticizing Diggs’ agitation at the end of the play as Kittle walked down inside the 10. Diggs, still in his uniform – shoulder pads and all – must have seen the message on his phone. right after the game, as he came out of the locker room and walked towards Leslie, who was gathered with other members of the media.

“From this whole room, is this what you took away?” You don’t know football,” Diggs told Leslie. “You can’t do anything I do. You can’t go there and do nothing. Stay in your lane, buddy. Stop playing with me, brother.

The reporter attempted to respond and continue the conversation with Diggs as he walked away.

“I’m just asking a question, Trevon,” Leslie said. “I’m glad you answered the question.”

Diggs came back and repeated some of his previous comments before returning to the locker room.

“Out of this whole room, what did you get out of it?” » he asked rhetorically before cursing the journalist.

Leslie continued to question Diggs.

“We can talk about this more,” he said as Diggs headed back toward the locker room. Diggs wasn’t interested.

“We can talk crazy,” the cornerback said.

Leslie later addressed the incident on social media.

“Trevon just came out of the locker room to approach me about this tweet,” Leslie wrote. “He said I didn’t know football and couldn’t do what he did. He and I agree on that. He did not, however, give an answer about what he was doing in the room.

He also added this:

Once members of the media were allowed into the locker room, Diggs was still angry and ultimately decided not to speak to reporters.

Falling to 3-4 this year with a fourth straight loss to San Francisco certainly stirs up some strong emotions on the Cowboys side. They’ll have a chance to get back to .500 when they travel to Atlanta to face the NFC South-leading Falcons (5-3) in Week 9.
