LONDON: PML-N President Nawaz Sharif left on Wednesday from London for Geneva on a four-day trip to join his daughter Maryam Nawaz, the Chief Minister of Punjab.
While responding to a question from The News, Nawaz said: “I will talk about political issues after I return from Geneva.” He was asked to comment on Donald Trump’s historic victory in the US elections, but he did not answer the question.
The former prime minister confirmed three times that he would go to Geneva to be with Nawaz, who was supposed to arrive there late on Wednesday to receive treatment in hospital.
After spending some time in Geneva, both Maryam and Nawaz are likely to head to London. Nawaz said that he will return to London and spend some time here for a week and then return to Pakistan. The sources said that Maryam is unlikely to visit London due to her commitments in the governorate.
It is noteworthy that Maryam has been suffering from a sore throat for some time, and there are indications that she may undergo surgery under the guidance of her doctors.
