Rawalpindi: Imran Khan, founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has called on his supporters to march to Islamabad on November 24, his lawyer and sister said on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters in Rawalpindi, lawyer Faisal Chaudhry said: “Imran Khan says this is the last call for the (anti-government) protest. The PTI founder stressed that the entire party leadership will be part of the march.”

Chaudhry said that the protest will take place not only in Islamabad but across Pakistan and across the world where Imran’s supporters are present.

The lawyer said that the party founder also formed a committee for the march and requested that the names of its participants not be revealed for fear of their arrest.

All party leaders are aware of their responsibilities, the lawyer said, adding that the committee will have the power to call off the protest, ensuring that no one takes the decisions.

There was a lot of disappointment, PTI leader Ali Zafar had previously said, when Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur ended the Swabi march without setting a date for the protest. This added to the frustration of workers who participated in the Islamabad protests last month, which ended suddenly.

The lawyer also added that KP CM Gandpur will also lead a convoy from the district on the directions of the PTI founder.

Elaborating on the protest demands, Chaudhary said the party demands withdrawal of the controversial 26th Constitutional Amendment, “return of PTI’s mandate”, and release of workers imprisoned without trial.

Sources had been informed before this announcement News Although the PTI founder had demanded a date for the final protest and possible sit-in in Islamabad, he was persuaded by senior party leaders that it could backfire if such a protest was announced without proper planning and taking into consideration all the pros and cons. cons.

Meanwhile, two days ago, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs Rana Sanaullah warned that the PTI founder was “mistreating” his party workers and supporters by issuing a “do or die” protest call, warning that it could lead to a crackdown. suppress them.

“Decide: Martial Law or Freedom”

Imran’s sister Aleema told reporters in Rawalpindi that the PTI founder had called for a nationwide protest. She added that the founder of the PTI movement urged his supporters to go out and protest in Islamabad.

“Pakistanis were asked to decide whether they want to live under martial law or enjoy freedom,” she said, adding that Imran’s message was directed at farmers, lawyers, civil society and students.

She added that Imran asked them to go out to the streets and demand their rights, judicial protection, the rule of law, and the return of the party’s “stolen mandate.”

Alima said that on February 8, when the general elections were held, the public came out for democracy and voted against the oppressive regime.

She added that on February 9, the people’s mandate was stolen and power was handed over to a few individuals. She also added that the 26th Constitutional Amendment paved the way for a 10-year martial law.

She said Imran now called on the nation, farmers, lawyers, civil society, overseas Pakistanis and students to rise up for their future.

Meanwhile, KP CM Gandapur spoke to reporters in Peshawar, stressing that all preparations for the protest have been completed.

“There’s no turning back this time.” Gandapur stressed that the protest will continue until all demands are fully met.
