FBR involves real-time machine-to-machine data integration with NADRA – Trendy Blogger

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has established real-time machine-to-machine data integration with NADRA and also created a link to other key organizations that maintain data on financial transactions.

FBR has drafted a report on Broadening the Tax Base (2023-24). According to the report, FBR used technology and data analytics with continuous monitoring through dashboards.

FBR has been engaging in aggressive incentive activity by sending SMS/WhatsApp messages to unregistered high-ranking persons to submit their returns.

The FBR conducted a media campaign to encourage citizens to visit an information portal and submit their returns.

The FBR has already signed memorandums of understanding with 28 departments/organizations for transfer of data/information on real-time basis.

FBR has revamped Tax Ray’s information portal and powerful tools with field formations, according to the report.

The FBR has also established 145 District Tax Offices (DTOs) and is designated as District Tax Office with specific jurisdiction to expand the tax base and take action against non-filers.

A special committee was formed under the leadership of the Chairman of NADRA, with senior officials from both organizations as its members, and was charged with making recommendations on broadening the tax base. These recommendations are implemented by the FBR.
