Kot Addu Power is offering the lowest tariff for KE’s 120 MW solar project – Trendy Blogger

K-Electric (KE) has received the lowest tariff offer from Kot Addu Power Company Limited (KAPCO) for its 120 MW solar project in Karachi, according to KAPCO’s filing with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).

Capco reported that it had submitted a bid of Rs 9.8319 per kWh, equivalent to 3.4061 cents/kWh at a reference exchange rate of US$288.65/PKR, for the proposed solar project to be constructed in Deh Halkani, Western Region. Karachi.

KE conducted a competitive tender under NEPRA (Electricity Power Procurement Regulations) 2022.

The formal award of the project to Capco will require the approval of the National Electricity and Electricity Authority based on the evaluation report submitted by the KE Auctions and Evaluation Committee.

This comes after KE had earlier secured the “country’s lowest tariff offer” of Rs 8.9,189 per unit from a Canadian renewable energy company for its 220 MW hybrid project in Dhabiji, Sindh. These initiatives are consistent with KE’s strategy to increase the share of renewable energy in its energy mix to 30% by 2030.

KE, the only vertically integrated power utility in Pakistan, supplies electricity to Karachi and neighboring areas. The majority of shares (66.4%) are owned by KES Power, a consortium that includes Saudi Arabia’s Al Jomaih Energy Company Limited, Kuwait National Industries Group (Holding), and the Infrastructure and Growth Capital Fund (IGCF).

Capco, headquartered in Kot Addu, Punjab, operates a multi-fuel power plant comprising 15 generating units with a total capacity of 1,600 MW.
