KarachiTo make it easier for pilgrims to deposit Hajj applications, the State Bank of Pakistan, on Thursday, directed 15 designated banks to keep their respective branches open on Saturdays and Sundays across the country.
The deadline for submitting Hajj applications with dues for pilgrims wishing to perform Hajj 2025 is December 3, 2024.
A statement issued here said that the Central Bank issued the directives upon the request of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony to facilitate pilgrims wishing to deposit Hajj applications along with Hajj fees for the year 2025.
The State Bank of Pakistan has directed the designated banks to “keep their respective branches open from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm on 30 November 2024 and 1 December 2024 across the country”.
Earlier, regarding the Hajj policy, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony had appointed 15 banks (such as National Bank of Pakistan, Habib Bank, United Bank, MCB Bank, Allied Bank, Bank of Punjab, Bank Alfalah, Zarai Tarakiyati Bank). Faisal Bank, Askari Bank, Al Habib Bank, Al Habib Metropolitan Bank, Soneri Bank, Meezan Bank and Islamic Bank) to collect Hajj applications starting November from December 18, 2024 until December 3, 2024 across the country.
