BEIJING: Ambassador Khalil Hashemi and Dr. Li Ruhong, founder of the World Peace Foundation, an official partner of UNESCO, unveiled a captivating collection of photographs highlighting the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Pakistan at the Peace Park Museum. These photos, contributed by the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing, were taken by Chinese tour operators who explored Pakistan during the China-Pakistan Tourism Exchanges Year. The collection is now part of the museum’s permanent display, a press release said.
In his speech, Ambassador Hashemi stressed that the photos illustrate the deep bonds that have been strengthened through travel, culture and shared experiences. He emphasized that they not only tell stories of mutual respect and understanding, but also underscore the historical ties between the two countries, dating back to the Gandhara civilization. “This offer serves as a strong symbol of the enduring people-to-people ties that form the cornerstone of the Pakistan-China relationship,” the ambassador said.
Ambassador Hashemi also praised Dr. Li Ruhong for his dedication to promoting bilateral relations and expressed his gratitude for ensuring that the photos are permanently displayed at the Peace Garden Museum. He pointed out that the exhibition provides a unique opportunity for visitors to appreciate and reflect on the beauty of Pakistan and the shared legacy of friendship between the two countries.
During his visit to Pakistan, Dr. Li praised the deep-rooted friendship between Pakistan and China and reiterated its importance as an all-weather strategic cooperative partnership. He expressed his appreciation to the Embassy of Pakistan for contributing these photographs to the museum’s permanent display and reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing cooperation with Pakistan in various fields, including humanities, technology, trade, investment, public welfare and cultural exchange.
A few days earlier, a similar initiative was carried out at the China Center for International Cultural Communication (CICCC), where Ambassador Hashemi presented another set of these photos to Long Yuxiang, CEO of CICCC.
These photos, taken by the same group of Chinese tour operators, are on permanent display at CICCC, underscoring Pakistan’s tourism potential and cultural richness. President Loong also praised the Embassy’s efforts to promote mutual understanding and reaffirmed CICCC’s commitment to strengthening the historic friendship between Pakistan and China through cultural and tourism exchanges.
