Special report
KARACHI: President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian issued a message on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the People of Palestine, said the message received here on Friday.
The message says:
In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful
November 29 is the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, a day of global solidarity with the courage, perseverance, and pursuit of freedom and justice for the people who stood with bare hands in the face of the fiercest forces in history. For more than seven decades. The powers that brazenly take pride in taking the lives of young children, killing defenseless people, destroying homes, assassinating the noblest heroes, and looking on with anxiety and disbelief at people all over the world, do not make them feel even the slightest bit embarrassed.
The United Nations’ move to designate a day of solidarity with the Palestinian people is a valuable measure, but insufficient. On this day last year, the number of Palestinians who were martyred reached 14,000 martyrs, but now we are faced with 53,000 dead and missing and more than 100,000 wounded, more than 60% of whom are women, children and the elderly. For more than a year, the peoples of the world have been looking to the United Nations to find a way to deal with the genocide of the Palestinian people, control the fire of war that has spread to other countries, and hand over the jailer. The world’s largest open-air prison of justice, but unfortunately, during this period, all freedom seekers and awakened consciences in the world witnessed the inaction of the United Nations and the impunity of terrorists who dressed as statesmen and preached to others in the United Nations.
The conditions today in Palestine and other countries affected by the attacks of the Israeli regime prove that the most effective and quickest measure to sympathize with the Palestinian people is to curb the Zionist regime and cut off international support for this cancerous tumor. The Zionist regime demonstrated its lack of commitment to international norms and values by tearing up the United Nations Charter, a charter accepted by the organization’s members. History will record mass massacres against civilians, attacks on hospitals, cutting off water, food, fuel and medicine for the people of Gaza, the displacement of thousands of residents, and the killing of journalists and employees of international organizations. The martyrdom of legends such as the martyr Hassan Nasrallah, the martyr Ismail Haniyeh, and the martyr Yahya Sinwar, was carried out with the complicity of governments. A Western woman claims to be a defender of human rights, especially the United States, and that every time efforts are made to stop the war and the killing of children, the hand of the United States representative is raised. In the UN Security Council to thwart these efforts.
The Islamic Republic of Iran celebrates the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, but at the same time it warns against this organization’s failure to kill the Palestinian people. The injustices committed against the Palestinian people require global attention and action, while silence in their face amounts to a normalization of evil and cruelty that will challenge the future of humanity. If the United Nations, especially the Security Council, today is unable to find a way to deal with the crimes of the occupiers of Palestinian land, the credibility and dignity of this organization will be seriously jeopardized.
Today, we affirm our commitment to fully support the cause of a free and independent Palestine, and in this regard, we stand with the Palestinian people. The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to cooperate with all countries committed to the principles of freedom, equality, justice and human rights, and considers defending the Palestinian people a demand of all free people in the world. The Islamic Republic of Iran continues to believe that the only principled solution to the Palestinian issue is the return of refugees and the holding of a referendum among the indigenous Palestinian people, including Muslims, Christians and Jews, on the basis of democratic principles and international law. There is no doubt that the final victory in this painful and unequal battle belongs to those determined people in whom even the largest military arsenals in the world could not disrupt their determination on the path to victory.
May God’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you.
