The Pakistani Single Window integrates seven major government agencies to simplify business data – Trendy Blogger

The Pakistan Single Window (PSW) has integrated seven key government organisations, including provincial revenue authorities and the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), to enhance data sharing during import and export clearance processes.

According to Order SRO.2076(I)/2024 of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the integration applies retroactively as of July 1, 2024, to reporting authorities and tax administrations.

In addition to DRAP, PSW now includes entities such as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA), Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA), Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA), Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), and Special Technology Zone Authority (STZA).

The integration will enable full transfer of cargo declaration data, certificates of origin, shipping details and phytosanitary certificates, supporting advanced risk management and faster cargo clearance.

The PSW system is fully integrated with banks and is also connected to departments such as Plant Protection Department, Animal Quarantine Department, Federal Seed Certification and Registration Department, Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority and Marine Fisheries Department.

As part of PSW’s business process reforms, 96 paper documents were replaced with electronic verification processes, streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency. Trade-related documents have been standardized, harmonized and equipped with QR codes, reducing duplication and facilitating automation.

The PSW system is also linked to China’s Single Window for International Trade to enhance data exchange between the two countries, with the aim of eliminating undervaluation of import invoices.

Sources revealed that the government has directed counties to prioritize the participation of all stakeholders and ensure system security to expand PSW reach.
