FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) launched a massive operation against unauthorized housing schemes and successfully stopped the development of 24 illegal colonies on Satyana Road and adjoining areas over the past few days.
The campaign, moderated by FDA Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry, aims to reduce violations in housing developments and ensure compliance with regulations.
An FDA spokesperson said on Saturday that daily progress reports of the operation are being submitted to Divisional Commissioner Ms Salwat Saeed and Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad Captain (retd) Nadeem Nasir. The operations, supervised by FDA Director Asif Chaudhry and Town Planning Director Asma Mohsin, were carried out by a team led by State Officer Mian Shehzad Qamar, along with inspectors Aslam Ansari, Sanaullah and Aslam Gujjar.
The team demolished illegal buildings and closed sales offices of unauthorized colonies.
The affected schemes included Blossom City, Canal Platinum, Grand Iconic, Khayaban-e-Green, Model City Tulip Block, Palm City, Rehman Villas, Paramount City, and several other schemes located in areas like Chak No. 235-RB, 236-RB and 238-RB. These housing schemes were created without obtaining prior approval or completing the necessary legal procedures.
During the operation, building materials were confiscated, and resistance was minimal, with only two people trying to disrupt the operation. Cases have been registered against them, and further legal action is being taken.
FDA Director General Asif Chaudhry warned developers to adhere to all legal and administrative requirements before starting housing plans, stressing that violators would face severe penalties and demolition of unauthorized buildings. He also urged the public to check the legal status of housing projects before making investments to avoid potential losses or complications.
