SBP: US, China and UK remain top three destinations for Pakistani exports – Trendy Blogger

The United States remained the top destination for exports of Pakistani products during the first five months of the current fiscal year, followed by China and the United Kingdom.

Total exports to the United States during this period recorded $2,512.809 million compared to $2,299.165 million last year, showing an increase of 9.29 percent, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

However, SBP data indicated that exports to China declined by 13.93%, with Pakistan exporting goods worth $1,053.161 million in FY25 as against $1,223.702 million last year.

The UK was noted to be among the country’s top export destinations, with Pakistan exporting products worth $935.018 million, according to SBP.

Earlier, it was noted that exports to European countries grew by 8.62% in the first five months of the current fiscal year, mainly due to higher shipments to Western countries.

The recovery in exports to Europe in the current fiscal year is due to a slight increase in demand for Pakistani goods in western, eastern and northern Europe.

In absolute terms, Pakistan’s exports to the EU were $3.866 billion in July-November FY25 compared to $3.559 billion in the same period last year, according to the data.

In FY24, Pakistan’s exports to the EU fell by 3.12% to $8,240 billion despite the GSP+ status, which allows duty-free entry into most European markets.

Among other countries, Pakistani exports to the UAE amounted to $925.594 million compared to $817.848 million last year, while Pakistani exports to Saudi Arabia recorded $303.421 million during the current year compared to $275.619 million last year.

In the South Asia region, Pakistan exported goods worth $313.998 million to Bangladesh compared to $241.960 million last year. While exports to Afghanistan recorded $406.67 million, compared to $234.563 million last year.

As far as European countries are concerned, Pakistan exported goods worth $707.649 million to Germany, representing an increase over the previous year. While exports to Spain amounted to $600.871 million.

Exports to France during the months under review recorded $230.857 million, compared to $207.183 million, while exports to Belgium amounted to $257.895 million, compared to $236.207 million.

Exports to Türkiye amounted to $136.769 million, compared to $158.843 million last year.
