Dubai (United Arab Emirates): The Harvard International Relations Council (IRC), in collaboration with WorldView Education, organized the Harvard Model United Nations (HMUN) Dubai 2025 from January 11 to 13 at Le Méridien Hotel and Conference Centre. The event brought together more than 1,000 students representing 73 institutions from 48 countries.
87 delegates from various Pakistani institutions participated in this conference. Students from CAS School Karachi, Learning Alliance Lahore, Hasan Abdul Cadet College, Lahore Grammar School and Roots International participated in the event. Pakistani students received awards in the conference’s largest debate panels and the Best Small Delegation award.
Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tarmzi, Pakistan’s envoy to the country, and Hussain Mohammed, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, expressed their encouragement and support for the Pakistani teams.
During the conference, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tarmzi visited the venue and spoke with delegations from Pakistan and other participating countries. In his address to the Pakistani delegates, he emphasized the role of soft diplomacy and education in shaping Pakistan’s future. He urged students to be the driving force for positive change and embody the values of innovation and inclusiveness. The Harvard IRC team presented a token of appreciation to Ambassador Termezi.
Omar Sharafuddin led the CAS School delegation that visited the Consul General at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai. Hussain Muhammad, Consul General, hosted the visiting CAS School team for lunch at the Pakistani Consulate and gave them a detailed briefing on the duties and responsibilities of the Consulate.
He interacted with the students and gave them ideas about the role of the diplomatic mission in representing Pakistani interests in the United Arab Emirates. He stressed the importance of strengthening such platforms to empower Pakistani youth and enhance their global presence.
