The PTA and the Ministry of Commerce sign a memorandum of understanding to enhance the digital ecosystem – Trendy Blogger

Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Ministry of Commerce (MoC) signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding at PTA headquarters to enhance cooperation in developing Pakistan’s digital ecosystem and enabling trade through technological innovation.

The MoU stipulates key areas of cooperation, including e-commerce, cybersecurity and cloud computing, with a focus on knowledge exchange, capacity building and enhancing a competitive environment for businesses and consumers. It also focuses on promoting cross-border trade to enhance business efficiency and competitiveness.

PTA Chairman, Major General (R) Hafeezur Rahman, Hello (M), reiterated PTA’s commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration for a prosperous digital society. Minister of Commerce, Javad Paul, highlighted the vital role played by the Preferential Trade Area (PTA) in supporting e-commerce through strong digital infrastructure and promoting digital inclusion.

The signing ceremony, which was attended by senior officials from both organizations, including Director General (Strategy and Development) of the PTA, Ehsan Yar Khan, and Executive Director General of the Ministry of Cooperation, Muhammad Ashraf, contributed to the formalization of the agreement.

This partnership aims to strengthen Pakistan’s digital commerce ecosystem, enhance economic resilience and drive societal progress.
