IslamabadFederal Finance and Revenue Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on Wednesday met with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Bangladesh Interim Government Chief Advisor Dr Muhammad Yunus on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos.
The Minister attended the opening dinner of the World Economic Forum 2025 Annual Meeting, hosted by Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder of the World Economic Forum and Hilde Schwab, President of the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship.
The Finance Minister also met with Professor Klaus Schwab, Hilde Schwab and Anita Zaidi, Head of the Gender Equality Department at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
They discussed collaborative efforts to improve nutrition, health and eradicate polio.
He briefed the Minister on the basis of the Government of Pakistan’s commitment to promoting these vital health initiatives and its partnership with the Foundation.
He also met with Yuvraj Narayan, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and Rizwan Somar, CEO and Managing Director of DP World.
Discussions focused on strengthening infrastructure and logistical frameworks in Pakistan to boost trade.
Muhammad Aurangzeb emphasized that the government values its partnerships in business-to-business cooperation and looks forward to promoting collaborative projects.
The Minister also met with Can Terzioglu, CEO of VEON, and Amer Ibrahim, CEO of Jaz, on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum.
The discussions focused on expanding existing cooperation in financial technology services and expanding digital inclusion in Pakistan.
