Mansehra: The Department of Pakistan Studies at Hazara University, Mansehra, carries a distinct identity, both in establishing international cooperation and contributing at the national level. To embody this uniqueness, the department organized an exhibition within the “Cultural Heritage” course, led by Ms. Noreen Rafiq.
The initiative aims to raise awareness among students about Pakistan’s cultural heritage, and to emphasize that Pakistan is a rich and diverse country with a strong cultural identity, and stands proudly among other countries because of its traditions and heritage.
The students displayed different models representing Pakistani culture. For example, a model of the Badshahi Mosque attracted great attention. Other examples highlighted the cultural aspects of the Mansehra region and the historic city of Balakot and their cultural features. Likewise, Takht-e-Bahi in Mardan was prominently displayed by students. Iconic landmarks such as Minar-e-Pakistan and the Mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah have been creatively depicted, emphasizing their historical and cultural significance.
A large number of faculty members and students visited the exhibition and expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the students and the department. Such exhibitions are crucial because they provide students with hands-on opportunities to understand and explore their field of study. For example, a model of a gurdwara in Mansehra was displayed that reflects the cultural diversity of the region.
