Islamabad: The Pakistani Communications Authority (PTA) reminds international travelers who bring mobile devices to Pakistan to fulfill their tax obligations as required by the Federal Revenue Council (FBR) to register the device under identification of the device, registration and ban (DERBS).

To facilitate international visitors, PTA provides a temporary registration option for short -term stays.

However, travelers who intend to stay beyond 120 days or request access to the continuous mobile network must register their devices and pay the relevant taxes imposed by FBR.

International travelers are strongly urged to complete the registration of devices through DERBS and settle FBR tax obligations immediately to avoid service disorders.

For comprehensive information on tax rates and registration, travelers are directed to the official FBR website

This may also be added that PTA confirms that these taxes are imposed and collected only by FBR. Compliance with these tax requirements guarantee uninterrupted access to local mobile networks and adherence to national regulations.

PTA is still devoted to enhancing the transparent and effective communication environment while supporting organizational compliance.
