IslamabadFly Jinnah, a budget company that focuses mainly on local roads, obtained approval from Bangladesh to operate direct flights between Karachi and Dhaka, according to recent reports.

This development comes after an announcement issued by the Sami Commissioner in Bangladesh to Pakistan, Mohamed Iqbal Hussein, last week, saying that direct flights between the two countries are expected to start in the coming months. He also stated that the goods that link Dhaka with Karachi and Lahore will be launched soon, which facilitates the reinforced trade and trade exchanges.

In a report issued by The Daily Star, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority in Bangladesh (CAAB), Marshal Mergel Monger, Kabir Bhuiyan, confirmed Fly Jinnah’s request for service and subsequent approval. He explained, “They have advanced (fly a wing) to us, and we have agreed to it.” He also added that Fly Jinnah will soon appoint a year -sales agent (GSA) and requests air vents and frequencies, which CAAB will submit once the application is submitted.

In addition, the Indian media reported that the launch of direct flights will be followed by a direct charging road between Chittagong and Karachi. Abdel Nasser Khan, the additional Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism in Bangladesh, confirmed the approval, saying: “CAAB has agreed to the Fly Jinnah’s suggestion for direct air flights between Bangladesh and Pakistan. We will sign a deal to resume dhaka-karachi flights.”

The two countries, which were previously part of the United States, were separated after a tragic civil war, as East Pakistan gained independence like Bangladesh. Over the years, relations have been strained, especially since Dhaka has maintained closer relationships with India. However, the recent political transformations in Bangladesh led to the melting of ice in relations with Pakistan, as trade and diplomatic relations between the two countries showed signs of improvement.
