The Guild of Americana Ameica brought the producers some clarity for the upcoming Academy Awards race, as “Anora” won the first evening award after she also won the first DGA award for director Sean Baker a few moments ago in addition to the Critics Choice Award on Friday.
“The Wild Robot” from Dreamworks gained momentum by winning the PGA animation, while “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story”, which was absent from the Academy Awards list, won the PGA Prize for the prominent producer in Motion Pictture.
On the TV side, “Hacks” followed its strong show from the Chick Critics Awards on Friday, where the Danny Thomas Award for the Excellent Product of the TV TV – Comedy. Meanwhile, “Baby Rendeer” fell by the David L. Wolper Award for Limited or Anthology Series Television. Among the other TV winners “Saturday Night Live” in the live entertainment category, Sketch, Standup & Talk Television and “The Traitors” for the Game & Communation series.
PGA Awards are widely predicted by an Academy Awards, especially in the best category of photo. PGA followed its example when the academy expanded the team from five to 10 candidates in 2009. Since then, the union’s nominations have been a good indication of Oscar’s success, with eight of the 10 PGA candidates on average translated into gestures in the Academy Awards.
This is also true this year: eight of the ten candidates got the best Oscar gestures in the best image (“Anora”, “The BRUTALIST”, “A Unwateer Unknown”, “Conclave”, “Dune: Part Two”, “Emilia Pérez, “Article” “The Bishops”).
When going to the PGA Awards on Saturday, Searchlight Pictures was the only studio that recorded two names this year, with “real pain” and “complete unknown” making the list.
The destroyed forest fires in southern California prompted PGA and the Academy of Image and Animation Arts to expand the final dates to vote last month, with PGA postponed its nominations from January 10 to January 13 from January 17 to January 23.
The repeated Saturday evening topic was an invitation to transfer the production of films and television to Los Angeles. There were allies in some places, such as when PGA president, Donald De Line, said, “Films made Los Angeles, and it is time to convey films.” Others appealed to the “Mongols in the Chamber” to do the right thing, but many guests were not lost that the producers themselves put sites.
