The import of mobile phones to Pakistan decreased by 12.04 % during the first seven months of the current fiscal year (2024-25) compared to the same period last year.
According to the data of the Pakistani Statistical Office (PBS), mobile phone imports amounted to 868.551 million dollars during the month of July to January (2024-25), a decrease from 987,447 million dollars registered in the corresponding months (2023-24).
On an annual basis, mobile phone imports decreased by 30.66 % in January 2025, when imports reached 135.127 million dollars compared to 194.866 million dollars in January 2024. The decrease also extended on a monthly basis on a monthly basis, such as January 2025 The imports decreased by 17.23 % from 163.257 One million dollars in December 2024.
Despite the decrease in mobile phone imports, Pakistani total goods exports increased by 10.16 % in the first seven months of the fiscal year 25, reaching 19.584 billion dollars compared to $ 17.777 billion in the same period last year. Meanwhile, imports grew by 7.08 %, increasing from 30.893 billion dollars last year to 33.079 billion dollars in the current fiscal year.
