Doctor Aylen Matley (@AYLINMATLE) is principal researcher at the Center for Security and Defense at the German Council for Foreign Relations (DGAP). Dr.’s research interests include German and American security and defense policies, NATO and transatlantic security and defense relations as well as the interconnection of the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific theater. She has published widely on these subjects and regularly appears as a commentator in the German and international media. She is a member of the NATO civil society advisory panel on women, peace and security.
