IslamabadThe National Committee for Permanent Assembly for Assembly, Development and Special Initiatives reviewed on Wednesday the Ministry’s budget proposals for the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) for the year 2025-26.
Headed by the National Assembly (MNA) Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani, the committee stressed the need to build capacity within the ministry instead of relying on external consultants.
The body raised concerns about the delay in the implementation of the project, insufficient financing for major initiatives, and the reality on the ground for complete projects.
The committee stressed the importance of transparency in using money for Mega projects and setting priorities for continuous initiatives.
The issue of delayed money licenses has also been discussed, with an urgent invitation to obtain a timely exchange to prevent the project’s recession.
Discussions confirmed the need for an exclusive review of infrastructure development projects in Karachi.
The committee has raised concerns about the fate and implementation of PSDP projects under the Ministry of Public Works in Paktan (PAK PWD) and the intention to deal with the matter with the relevant ministries at the next meeting.
In addition, a sub -committee, chaired by Mna Syed SAMI UL HASSAN Gillani, which includes representatives of the main parties, has been formed to assess the progress and projects of the sender to ensure more accountability and effective implementation.
The meeting focused on major infrastructure projects, budget proposals, and implementation challenges within PSDP.
As a follow -up to previous discussions, the Chairman of the National Roads Authority (NHA) briefed the committee on developing major infrastructure projects.
The committee reviewed the N-50 rating as a quick road and the urgent need for financing to continue the Yarak Dualization Project to Kuchlak.
Hyderabad-Sukkur (M-6) was informed as a higher governmental priority, with ongoing financing discussions.
The committee also studied challenges in developing an alternative road between Karachi and Hyderabad. Focusing to solve contractor issues, address the fears of law and order, and reduce the deficiency of financing to ensure the implementation of the project in a timely manner.
The committee repeated the need to give priority to the western path of the China -Pakistani economic corridor (CPEC) to enhance the commercial communication between GWADAR and Xinjiang.
Fears were raised about the financial restrictions that affect the implementation of the project and the need to increase the customization of PSDP to ensure the completion of critical infrastructure projects.
A report by the Sub -Committee, led by Al -Major (PBUH), submitted Taher Iqbal in the project to provide free cancer drugs from Roche.
The Ministry of Health launched the required budget allocations committee under the budget of the Pakistani Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and other spending budget.
The committee stressed the importance of improving the provision of health care services in the disadvantaged areas and requested a detailed follow -up from the Ministry of Health at the next meeting.
