Prime Minister Shaybaz Sharif again affirmed the government’s commitment to providing basic elements at reasonable prices, while emphasizing that controlling sugar prices and preventing treasure is still a top priority.
He chaired a meeting on sugar supplies and price regulation, the Prime Minister indicated that the recent campaign to smuggle sugar has resulted in positive results. He directed the authorities to implement strict measures to reduce price manipulation and take decisive measures against the treasure.
Shaybaz Sharif has ordered officials to formulate a strategy that ensures the availability of sugar and other basic commodities at reasonable prices. He stressed that both federal governments and regional governments should work together to protect consumers from inflation.
As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, the Prime Minister warned that any negligence in controlling prices will not be tolerated. The meeting was informed that sugar production levels were sufficient to meet the local demand.
The officials have also informed that fair price stores were established at the boycott level to sell sugar at lower prices, while efforts were underway to completely smuggle smuggling.
The main trustees confirmed that the provinces departments will actively monitor the situation and take quick measures against the illegal treasure.
