Prime Minister Shaybaz Sharif again affirmed the government’s commitment to providing basic elements at reasonable prices, while emphasizing that controlling sugar prices and preventing treasure is still a top priority.
He chaired a meeting on sugar supplies and price regulation, the Prime Minister indicated that the recent campaign to smuggle sugar has resulted in positive results. He directed the authorities to implement strict measures to reduce price manipulation and take decisive measures against the treasure.
Shaybaz Sharif has ordered officials to formulate a strategy that ensures the availability of sugar and other basic commodities at reasonable prices. He stressed that both federal governments and regional governments should work together to protect consumers from inflation.
As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, the Prime Minister warned that any negligence in controlling prices will not be tolerated. The meeting was informed that sugar production levels were sufficient to meet the local demand.
The officials have also informed that fair price stores were established at the boycott level to sell sugar at lower prices, while efforts were underway to completely smuggle smuggling.
The main trustees confirmed that the provinces departments will actively monitor the situation and take quick measures against the illegal treasure.
On the other hand, despite the last campaign of smuggling, food prices rose sharply at the beginning of the sacred month, making it difficult for consumers to bear the costs of basic necessities. The prices of the main elements, including sugar, cooking, chicken, flour, and legumes, have increased significantly. Sugar is now sold at a price of 165 rupees per kilogram, up from 145 rupees before Ramadan, while the prices of oil and ghee increased by 50-100 rupees per liter.
Live chicken prices rose to 485 rupees per kilogram of 340 rupees, while bone meat is sold by more than 500 rupees per kilogram. The butchers continue to impose self -imposition prices, as cow meat is now 1,200 rupees per kilogram and the guest, which reaches 2500 rupees per kilogram. Ten eggs are sold at 300 rupees, while Dissy eggs crossed 500 rupees per kilogram.
Vegetable prices are still high, with peas at 120 rupees per kilogram, capsicum at 200 rupees per kilogram, and bitterness of up to 250 rupees per kilogram. Flour prices are also high, as the cost of the minute flour bag is 20 kg. 1.750-1,900 rupees. Meanwhile, the prices of drinks, tea and rice increased with black tea now at 1500 rupees per kilogram and distinguished rice at 320 rupees per kg.
