US President Donald Trump confirmed on Sunday that his administration is holding talks with four different groups regarding the potential sale of the Chinese -owned social media platform Tiktok.
Speaking to journalists on Air Force One, Trump stated, “We are dealing with four different groups, and many people want it … all four are good.”
The fate of Tiktok was not certain because a law required its owner to sell the platform on the basis of national security or to confront a ban on January 19. Upon assuming his post on January 20, Trump signed an executive order to delay the application of the law by 75 days.
In response to a question if it was a deal on Tijok imminent, Trump said, “Can”. Several potential buyers, including Frank McCort, former Los Angeles Dodgers, have expressed his interest in obtaining Tiktok, which analysts value to $ 50 billion.
