Mumbai: The Indian Telecom operator BHARTI AIRTEL said on Tuesday that it had signed an agreement with Elon Musk’s Spacex to bring in Starlink satellites to customers in the world’s most populous country.
The possible launch of Starlink, which provides access to high -speed internet to remote sites by low -Earth orbit satellites, is accompanied by fierce political debate in India.
Musk raised the heads of the richest man in Asia, Mocish Ambani, on how to give the satellite spectrum, but also met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Washington last month.
Indian media reports also said that the Starlink license request was approaching the preliminary organizational approval.
