The Cabinet Committee has directed CCOP powers to accelerate the privatization process for the Roosevelt Hotel in New York, a property owned by Pakistani International Airlines (PIA). The decision was taken during a CCOP meeting on Tuesday, headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Isaac Dar, to review the progress of continuous privatization initiatives.
The meeting, which was attended by ministers of finance, power, and oil, along with senior officials of the relevant ministries and departments, focused primarily on determining the most applicable track in the abstraction of the Roosevelt Hotel.
During the discussions, DPM DAR emphasized the need to accelerate the process, and urged the Privatization Committee (PC) to ensure efficiency in government asset sales.
The committee repeated the government’s commitment to simplify privatization efforts to enhance economic feasibility and attract investment.
