The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) launched an integrated information technology portal to enhance financial oversight, enhance transparency in public spending, and improve the provision of services through its public entities. The KP initiative is the first province in Pakistan to implement a digital financial monitoring system at the boycott level.

The portal has been developed with a technical assistance from the UK’s UK governance program (SNG), and the portal will work as a central digital platform for financial and operational performance monitoring across 181 public sector organization.

It is characterized by the main performance indicators (KPIS), interactive information panels, and automatic reporting mechanisms, which allows the CGU Governance Unit in the Finance Department to effectively impose financial discipline.

Prime Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandabur officially opened the gate at a launch event in Bishhawar, attended by the Prime Minister’s Finance Adviser, Lake Aslam, senior government officials, and representatives of partner organizations.

The KP government oversees 183 public sector entities, including universities, educational hospitals, independent bodies, municipal service units and other organizations. The new information technology portal is now mandatory for all public entities, as it provides improvement in financial monitoring and operational efficiency.

By integrating financial tracking in actual time and preparing mechanical reports, the system aims to enhance decisions and ensure better governance.

During the event, officials also submitted a report monitoring service provision in the province. It was initially tried in three sections, and the reports framework has now been extended to all government departments and affiliated entities, which enhances the boycott commitment to transparency and institutional accountability.
