Prime Minister to announce relief for the industrial sector soon

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shaybaz Sharif will announce relief measures for the industrial sector, especially addressing concerns about the electricity tariff, according to the Special Adviser for Industries and Production, Harun Akhtar Khan.

Speaking in a meeting with the FPCI, Khan stressed the government’s commitment to economic stability, industrial growth and business friendly environment. He urged stronger cooperation between the public and private sectors to push economic prosperity in the long term.

Khan also revealed plans for the new bankruptcy law, which aims to provide stalled industries with an organized framework for recovery. He said that the initiative is part of the broader economic reforms designed to support companies facing financial distress.

With the highlight of Pakistan’s economic flexibility, the advisor pointed out that despite the various challenges, the country has made remarkable progress in addressing security concerns and ensuring the continuity of work. The business community has assumed full support for the government in formulating policies that facilitate industrial growth.

Khan also indicated that the decision of the State Bank in Pakistan to reduce the policy rate from 22 % to 12 % has provided a reduction that affects the need for companies, while the Pakistani Stock Exchange (PSX), which has reached record levels that reflect the increasing investor confidence.

He said that the upcoming relief package and policy reforms are in line with Prime Minister Sherfins Sharif’s vision to enhance a stable and progressive economy.
