The General Directorate of Customs Evaluation in Karachi has updated customs values ​​of 104 types of chocolate with branded brands of different origins.

According to news reports, the new evaluation, issued by the ruling number of 1980 of 2025, will increase the values ​​of these chocolate for the purpose of assessing duties and taxes at the time of import.

The updated values ​​cover a wide range of famous chocolate brands, including Kit Kat, Mars, Bounty, Snickers, Cadbury, Galaxy, Lindt, M & M and others. According to the ruling, the values ​​have not been reviewed since 2022.

The customs authorities decided to start the review after reviewing the import data, analyzing the current market trends, and determining the contradictions between market prices and current customs values.

The process of identifying the new customs values ​​began in January 2025, with a meeting on January 16, where stakeholders were invited to present their views and provide relevant documents to support their sites.

During this process, data from the previous 90 days were analyzed, and market inquiries were conducted according to the requirements of the Customs Law of 1969. This included a visit to many markets to collect the actual price data of the affected goods.

After the evaluation, the customs values ​​of these chocolate were modified, where the collaboration was placed in the profit margins, to create the value of the new C & F (cost and shipping). The updated values ​​will now be applied when setting duties and taxes on these imported products.
