The Amazon and Walmart -owned Flipkart company has been scrutinized in India for violating quality control regulations by storing products without the required standards certificate.

The Indian Indian Standards Office (BIS) made raids on corporate warehouses in Terofalur, Tamil Nadu, on Wednesday and found them storing, selling and displaying products that did not carry the mandatory BIS standard, according to a government statement.

The authorities seized 3,376 incompatible products, including bottles, isolated food containers, games, and roof fans from the Amazon warehouse, while diapers, Casseroles, and stainless steel water bottles were confiscated from the Folipkart facility.

These regulatory measures add to the challenges faced by e-commerce giants in the rapid retail market online in India, which amounted to $ 57 billion-60 billion dollars in 2023, and is expected to exceed 160 billion dollars by 2028, according to the Bain Consulting Company.

Both companies previously faced organizational audit. The anti -monopoly probe found in September that Amazon and Flipkart violated local competition laws by preferring sellers chosen over their platforms. In November, the investigators raided many of the companies associated with companies after a 2021 report revealed that Amazon had provided preferential treatment of a small group of merchants and used them to circumvent Indian laws.

The Amazon denied any violations.
