The Ministry of Industries and Production has pledged full support for the Pak Suzuki initiative to establish a biological gas factory in Pakistan, with the aim of developing biological gas as a source of renewable energy for industrial and transportation.

This step is expected to reduce relying on imported fuel, low carbon emissions, and create new economic opportunities for local farmers.

During a meeting with Pak Suzuki representatives, the Prime Minister in Industries and Production, Harun Akhtar Khan, confirmed that the government cooperation company in implementing the project. He said that the vital gas factory will contribute to solving the country’s fuel crisis while enhancing environmental preservation.

Khan highlighted the important vital gas capabilities in Pakistan, noting that the 170 million livestock in the country can generate about 16.3 million cubic meters of biological gas per day.

Currently, only 5357 factories produce 20,454 cubic meters per day, although Pakistan has the ability to install up to 15 million vital units. In addition, the biomass can contribute about 12615 million cubic meters of gas annually, with power generation capabilities ranging from 4,761 to 5554 megawatts.

The country also has the ability to produce 21 million tons of biomus every year, which may support agriculture and reduce production costs for farmers.

Khan said that the project is in line with the “European vision” of the Prime Minister and the national goal of reducing carbon emissions by 30 percent by 2030. He added that the total imports of Pakistan are currently 54 billion dollars, of which 16.91 billion dollars on petroleum products. He said that the vital gas initiative will help reduce oil imports and contribute to the self -sufficiency of energy.

Under the plan, biological gas from cow dung will be produced into fuel vehicles and industries, which transforms the energy scene with an increase in rural income.

Khan directed the rapid implementation of the project and announced that the government will formulate a policy dedicated to vital gas for industrial use to ensure its long -term effectiveness.
