Dubai (United Arab Emirates): The Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai hosted a ceremony today to celebrate the National Day of Pakistan. The event was attended by members of Pakistani society, media representatives and officials from the consulate. Hussein Mohamed, the Consul General, opened the ceremony by raising the national flag. Messages were also read from the President, the Prime Minister, and the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan on this occasion.
In his speech, Hussein Thanna extended to attend the day of Pakistan, which represents the historical occasion on March 23, 1940, a day when Muslims of the Indian subcontinent requested a separate country through the passage of the Pakistani decision. He stressed that this day is of deep importance in the history of Pakistan, as it paved the way for the establishment of an independent state on August 14, 1947.
“Today, we honor the leadership of the Great Sweid Muhammad Ali Jinn and a countless number of leaders and workers in the Pakistani movement who courageously faced tremendous challenges in achieving independence.
Mr. Hussein stressed the importance of thinking about Pakistan’s journey, while recognizing all its achievements and areas of improvement. He pointed out that although Pakistan has made great progress in various fields since its independence, there is still a lot that must be accomplished, especially in the social and economic sectors.
“Pakistan gives abundant human and natural resources. It is our collective responsibility to work hard and dedication to harness these resources for the nation’s progress. By adopting unity, faith and discipline, we can strengthen our country and ensure its prosperity.”
