The National Committee for the National tariff in Pakistan (NTC) has collected revenues of 40 billion rupees over the past 25 years by imposing duties to dumping more than 100 imported products.

It has been working within the framework of the Ministry of Commerce since 2000, and NTC has imposed commercial treatment laws to protect local industries from unfair competition caused by imported and supported imports.

Dumping occurs when a foreign company exports the goods to Pakistan at lower prices than those imposed in its local market, which can harm local industries by reducing sales, erosion of the market share, and lowering prices. Control measures aim to confront these effects and ensure fair trade practices.

Since its inception, NTC 150 has conducted an investigation into suspected dumping cases, which led to the duties of anti -dumping in 114 cases.

The chemical sector witnessed the largest number of investigations, as 59 cases were reviewed and duties were imposed in 49. The steel industry was followed, with 37 cases that were examined and the application of duties in 26.

Currently, NTC performs multiple investigations into the galvanized steel files, aluminum beverage cans, paper paper, polyester threads, and self -bopp from China, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Sri Lanka. The committee also imposed duties on imports related to iron and steel, chemicals, paper, tiles, textiles, and other industries – the creation of a more just commercial environment, the encouragement of industrial expansion, the generation of employment, and the increase in exports.

The decisions taken by NTC can be appealed in the ADAT Appeals Court (ADAT) or challenging them in the Supreme Courts. In February and March 2025, ADAT 60 Calls of 148 importers competed for anti -dumping duties for polyester yarns, colds generated (CRC), PVC and galvanized steel files, among other things.

Foreign governments can also compete to impose anti -dumping duties in the World Trade Organization (World Trade Organization). Besides the enforcement of commercial remedies, NTC provides legal and technical directives for Pakistani exporters who face similar measures abroad and advises the government to enhance industrial competitiveness, enhance export, and customs tariff reforms.
