More than 50 Chinese companies have been included in the latest trade campaign in the United States, where Washington is expanding export restrictions to reduce Beijing’s progress in artificial intelligence, quantum computing and military technology.

The US Department of Commerce announced the additions on Tuesday, as companies participating in the development of high computers, high -performance weapons and high -performance computing capabilities targeted.

Among the newly listed entities is six companies affiliated with the Inspur Group Group, a leading Chinese cloud computing company and a large data provider. Five of these units operate in China, while its headquarters is in Taiwan. The Inspur group itself was added to the American entity list in 2023.

Other companies listed in the black list include Nettrix Information Industry Co, Suma Technology Co and Suma-Usi Electronics, which have been cited to support the development of Chinese giants Exascale and help computing projects related to military.

American measures also extend beyond China, and target entities in Taiwan, Iran, Pakistan, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates. Washington referred to concerns about national security, saying that these companies are involved in obtaining US military use technologies, including quantum computing developments and drone development (drone).

Trade Minister Howard Lootnick confirmed that the United States will not allow opponents to exploit American technology to enhance its army.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry condemned the US resolution, saying that it would take the necessary measures to protect the interests of its institutions. The Chinese embassy in Washington criticized this step as an attempt to trade trade and technology under the pretext of national security.

The Beijing Artificial Intelligence Academy, one of the targeted institutions, has also issued a statement calling for the opposite of its decision.

Restrictions may affect trade relations between American technology companies and Chinese companies. When Inspur was listed in the black list last year, the main Chipmmakers, including NVIDIA and AMD, faced their scrutiny about their dealings with the company.

The American repression campaign also extends to Iran, with new restrictions aimed at preventing its purchase of drones and missile technology. In addition, some companies were listed in the blacklist to provide products to Huawei, a major player in the artificial intelligence sector in China and Telecom.

Companies in the list of American entities are prevented from buying American technology without special licenses, which are usually rejected. Jeffrey Kisler, the trade official, stated that the latest restrictions aim to prevent the use of American technology for military applications, including high -speed missiles and aircraft training.

This step is expected to increase the relations between the United States and China, as Beijing is looking for ways to confront trade and technology restrictions in Washington.
