The International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced on Friday that the Board of Directors had completed a review and opened a $ 400 million exchange for Ukraine to support its budget.

This is total payments under the Ukraine program, which is backed by the International Monetary Fund, 10.1 billion dollars.

Despite the ongoing challenges, Ukraine’s economy showed flexibility, as the International Monetary Fund pointed out. However, the economic growth, which slowed in the second half of 2024, is expected to disintegrate in 2025 due to the narrow labor market and continuous attacks on energy infrastructure.

The last payment of the seventh review of the Fund Foxes Facilities Program, at a value of 15.5 billion dollars, follows. Crystalina Georgiviva, the administrative director of international monetary measurement, recognized the severe economic and social war of the ongoing war in Russia in Ukraine, but has strengthened the total economic stability into “great external support”.

Ukraine still depends greatly on foreign financial aid to maintain social expenditures and economic stability. The country was in a war since Russia was widely invaded in February 2022, after Moscow annexed the Crimea in 2014.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump pledged to end the conflict.
