The Minister of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives highlighted the textile sector as a major driver in Pakistan’s chase of a $ 60 billion export goal by 2029. The Minister spoke at the third meeting the Prime Minister’s committee to clarify global trade planning.

Iqbal said: “The clothing industry and the clothing industry are the future of our economy for export,” Iqbal said. “We need to focus on design, quality and brands to compete at the international level.”

The textile sector, which is the backbone of the Pakistani manufacturing base, is expected to lead the recently launched “Aran Pakistan” initiative-a five-year economic framework that defines eight priority areas for export growth: textiles, industry, industry, strong services, blue economy, and creative economy.

Iqbal noted global examples such as China, Vietnam and Malaysia to emphasize the importance of bloc -based development and integrated supply chains. He called for the creation of ecosystems for competitive export, especially in textiles, which go beyond the basic manufacturing to include sustainability and global location in the market.

In response to the concerns raised by the representatives of industry on the challenges related to tax and organizational bottlenecks, the minister again affirmed the government’s commitment to create a more suitable environment for business.

He added: “Our future lies in moving from raw materials exports to value -added goods,” noting that long -term economic flexibility depends on this transformation.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of Commerce, Kamal Khan, senior government officials, and more than 60 members of the business community, including senior fabric exporters who actually joined.
