Washington: The Pakistani Foreign Minister, Pakistani Foreign Minister, Impaire, said about definitions, trade relations, immigration, and prospects for participation in critical minerals, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Pakistan, in separate statements.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “They (Rubio and Dar) discussed mutual definitions in Pakistan and how to make progress towards a fair and balanced trade relationship.”
The trade deficit of American goods with Pakistan was $ 3 billion in 2024, an increase of 5.2 % over the course of 2023, according to the American Trade Representative Office.
“The Secretary raised the possibilities of participating in critical minerals and expressed interest in expanding commercial opportunities for American companies.”
The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Rubio “has retracted the desire to cooperate with Pakistan in trade and investment in various sectors, especially critical minerals.”
The Trump administration also used the prospects for sharing critical metals with other countries.
For example, it is trying to conclude an agreement on critical minerals with Ukraine as part of the talks related to the war of Russia. Washington also said it was open to explore critical metal partnerships with the Congo and help end the conflict in the eastern African country.
In calling with Dar, Rubio stressed the importance of Pakistan’s cooperation with the United States on law enforcement and illegal immigration processing, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Last month, Pakistan highlighted its cooperation with Washington on facing extremism after the arrest of Muhammad Sharif Allah, who blaming the United States for the 2021 attack on its forces at Kabul Airport, in a military operation along the border with Afghanistan.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry said that Rubio and Dar discussed the situation in Afghanistan.
