Islamabad: Pakistani technology experts have warned of the increasing noise surrounding artificial intelligence (AI), warning that it may lead to long -term setbacks of local business entities if not contacted strategically.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, the CEO of Tenx, Qazafi Qazafi, stressed the need to distinguish between truth and imagination in the current artificial intelligence. “Amid this noise, companies often make exaggerated claims about their capabilities of artificial intelligence, while many individuals outperform the skills they do not already have.”
He also pointed out that even customers now insist on brand solutions as “supported by artificial intelligence”, even when this is the status of marks that are not related to their actual commercial problems.
While the artificial intelligence sector in Pakistan currently includes about 154 companies – with more emerging – the rapid expansion came at the expense of overcoming the basic elements needed for sustainable growth.
According to data from the first eight months of the continuous fiscal year 2024-25, total information technology exports amounted to $ 2.48 billion, which represents an increase of 26 percent compared to the same period last year. The government set an ambitious target of $ 4.2 billion in information technology exports for the current fiscal year, an increase of $ 3.2 billion in 2023-24.
However, Qayyum warned that in the pursuit of this growth, many companies give priority to the fast customer on basic practices such as skills development, data strategy, powerful governance models and comprehensive market research.
He said: “The rush to securing new clients often leads to a feverish payment of delivery – that does not fit it without a deep understanding of the target audience or without the presence of the specialized talents necessary within the teams.”

“We guarantee that we are recruiting professionals with multidisciplinary experience and actively cooperating with universities and professional networks to attract talents that can translate the capabilities of artificial intelligence into a real commercial impact.”
He urged academic institutions and aspiring professionals to focus not only on artistic experience but also to obtain industry knowledge. “Only with this double understanding can provide artificial intelligence solutions the value of concrete business.”
