Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates): The Embassy of Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates (Emirates) held a reception to celebrate the National Day of Pakistan. Members of the Diplomatic Corps, senior officials in the government of the United Arab Emirates, Emirati citizens and Pakistani society participated in this event. His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan bin Mapark Al Nawan, the Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence on this occasion. The event was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs for Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Ahmed bin Ali Sayg. Pakistani artists played the national anthem in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates on traditional tools.
Speaking on this occasion, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Trezizi recalled the importance of the solution of Pakistan and highlighted the hard struggle in addressing the increasing needs of an emerging state, and then towards achieving social and economic development. He called on a group of opportunities in Pakistan, which has been pivotal in promoting social and economic development in the country. This swelling included healthy youth. The increase in women’s participation in public life; Agriculture capabilities; The rich social and cultural heritage; Tourism capabilities and the fastest information technology sector. He stressed that the government was following a progressive agenda aimed at making tangible progress towards achieving economic progress and sustainable development goals.
With the emphasis on the need for dialogue, he called for an immediate end of hostilities in Gaza and reaffirmed Pakistan’s position to resolve the Palestinian issue and the disagreement of Jammu and Kashmir, in line with the decisions of the United Nations Security Council. Ambassador Termesi acknowledged the impressive economic growth of the United Arab Emirates in the past five decades, and he praised the visionary leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al -Nahyan, who proudly continued by the current President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nayhayan. He pointed out that a strong political and economic partnership in Pakistan-Awai, through high communications at high levels and established institutions and the presence of 1.7 million Pakistani diaspora.
As a sign of honor for the founding father of the United Arab Emirates, the embassy also launched a book on the life and works of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan, entitled “Sheikh Zayed Mimar-Wattan” written by a prominent Pakistani, Mr. Khan Zaman Sour. The book is a greeting from Pakistani society to the people and the government of the United Arab Emirates.
