A group of ten former Openai staff has submitted a legal summary on Friday to support Elon Musk’s lawsuit against Openai, which represents another escalation in the battle over the future direction of the pioneer of artificial intelligence.
Former employees, who have held technical and leadership roles in Openai, have argued that removing the role of controlling non -profit organizations “mainly violates” the founding task of the company to develop artificial intelligence in favor of humanity. In their file in the Federal Court, they stressed that non -profit control was decisive in Openai’s strategy and culture, noting that many of them joined the organization specifically because of its human mission.
Elon Musk, co -founder of Openai and CEO of Tesla, a lawsuit against Openai and CEO Sam Altman last year, accusing them of directing the organization away from its original non -profit vision towards the motives of corporate profit. Openai and Altman denied these allegations, while maintaining that the company is still committed to its mission.
Openai argues that restructuring is necessary to attract new investments. As part of its defense, the company stated that although the dominant role of non -profit profit will change, it will continue to obtain a valuable share in the profitable entity, ensuring long -term resources to achieve its original goals. “Our board of directors was very clear: it is not profitable to any place and our mission will remain the same,” Obayy said in a statement.
The role of a flash point has become a flash point, as Openai seeks to complete a $ 40 billion -donation tour by the end of the year. Investors pressure the company to adjust the governance structure to secure financing.
The legal challenge of musk and the latest deposit from the former employees can complicate Openai. The trial of the jury in this matter is scheduled to start in the spring of next year.
