The American Congress delegation will meet the Minister of Planning to enhance bilateral development links

Islamabad: A delegation of a high-level US Congress, led by actor Jack Bergman (R-Mi), along with actors Thomas Susie and Jonathan L. Jackson, senior officials, is an important meeting in the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Buddines during their visit to Islam. The session was chaired by the Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, the best turnout.

The meeting at the Ministry of Planning focused on enhancing bilateral development cooperation between Pakistan and the United States, with both sides exploring new opportunities for cooperation in critical sectors such as education, climate flexibility, energy, infrastructure, agriculture and information technology.

According to a statement later issued the meeting, the visiting delegation expressed its great interest in supporting the priorities of Pakistani development through joint initiatives and partnerships between the public and private sectors. They highlighted the strategic importance of Pakistan and recognized its potential for regional economic integration and sustainable growth. American lawmakers emphasized the role of Congress diplomacy in building long -term confidence and strengthening relations between people.

The Minister welcomed the best demand for the delegation and recognized the historical depth and the strategic importance of relations between Pakistan and the United States. He stressed the importance of falsifying a new stage of partnership based on mutual development goals and common democratic values. While clarifying the agenda of reform in Pakistan and “5S Frame”-with a focus on exports, e-Pakistan, the environment, energy, and stocks-the minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to comprehensive and sustainable development.

The discussion also highlighted the chances of providing higher education links, including through the Volibright program and the potential construction on the American University campus in Pakistan. Climate’s agriculture, disaster flexibility, and youth -based digital initiatives were also explored.

The delegation praised the Ministry’s vision and expressed its appreciation for the warm reception. They extended an invitation to Minister Iqbal to attend a relations symposium in the United States in Washington, DC, on April 30, 2025, including a symposium at the Congress Library that focuses on promoting bilateral participation.

The meeting concluded with a joint determination to deepen cooperation and build an aspirational partnership that focuses on development between Pakistan and the United States.
