A Chinese delegation showed strong interest in creating donkey farms in Pakistan, citing the country’s environment for donkeys.
During a meeting between the Minister of Food Security and National Research Rana Tanfir Hussein and Zhao Fay, Vice President of the Chinese donkeys industry, in Islamabad, the Minister welcomed the proposal and the most prominent strong trade relations between Pakistan and China.
Minister Hussein stated that the government will grant permission to establish farms under an official agreement, ensuring that local donkeys groups are not affected. The agreement will also allow the establishment of farms in the GWADAR export area, where the slaughterhouses and export facilities will be developed to facilitate the export of meat to China via the GWADAR port.
This initiative is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s exports, enhance trade relations with China, and create new economic opportunities and employment in the region. Last year, a high -level meeting between delegations from both sides signed a “protocol on quarantine requirements” for donkey meat exports to China.
In addition, the Ministry of Commerce ends protocols for donkeys leather and plans to include donkey meat in the export list.
