Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates): Rana Tanfir Hosan, the Pakistani Federal Minister for National Security and Research in Pakistan, attended the great ceremony of the seventeenth Khalifa International Prize for Palm and Agriculture in the Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi. This event, which was held under the auspices of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, honored international leaders in agricultural innovation, including the Pakistani category Dr. Ghulam Sarwar Markand, who received a prestigious award in the “influential number”.
The Federal Minister, Rana Tanver Hussein, expressed the appreciation of the leadership of the United Arab Emirates in promoting sustainable agriculture and strengthening international partnerships. He emphasized the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, especially in agricultural research and innovation.
Minister Hussein said: “The Khalifa International Award is a beacon for excellence in agricultural progress, and Pakistan is proud of Dr. Marcand’s recognition.” “This achievement reflects Pakistan’s commitment to scientific research and sustainable agriculture, and is compatible with global efforts to combat food security challenges and climate change.”
One of the most important characteristics of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MO) was for the second international Pamastan Palm Festival in Pakistan 2025, which will be held this year in Pakistan, which represents a new chapter in agricultural cooperation between the two countries. Rana Tanfir Hussein, Minister of National Security for Food Security and Research of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Dr. Abdel -Alami Zaid, Professor, Secretary -General of the KHALIFA International Award for History, signed agricultural innovation in the Memorandum of Understanding.
Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al -Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence in the United Arab Emirates, admitted many national and international personalities about their distinguished contributions to the growth and progress of palm cultivation and production. Among the honorees was Ambassador Faisal Niaz Termesi, Pakistan Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, and Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al -Habbi, the UAE ambassador to Pakistan.
The participation of Minister Tanvir Hussein again confirmed Pakistan’s dedication to agricultural innovation and its strong partnership with the United Arab Emirates in facing the main challenges such as food security, climate flexibility, and sustainable agriculture practices.
