His former colleague in the room in Maryam Haley, one of Harvey Winstein’s accused, took the position on Thursday to retrial former Hollywood producer in New York City.
Elizabeth Enetein, who lived with Haley in the eastern village in 2006, remembered that Haley had confidently during the summer of that year about an alleged sexual assault by Winstein. Enein described Haley’s behavior as “very unknown” and “anxiety”, noting that she stood embarrassed at the entrance while Enein was lying in her bed, before she finally approached her.
“She looked shook,” Enein said to the court hall. Although she was not able to reveal the details specified for her conversation with Haley, she summarized her by saying: “He forcibly put his mouth on her vagina without her consent.”
Antin said she advised Haley to contact a lawyer and is considering pursuing criminal charges against Winstein. “Mary, this seems to be rape. I think you should contact a lawyer,” I told her at that time.
However, Entin said, Haley did not seem to the proposal, and eventually “faded”. Enein noticed that from that day forward, Haley looked different – she had “less enthusiastic or vital”.
Earlier, Entin participated in Haley was working as a production assistant in “Project Runway” while they were together (produced Weinstein the fashion series), and that the two attendance often attend the show. Enein recounted the first meeting of the meeting at Winstein at an event in Siprani in the city center in Soho, where he placed his arm around the Haley waist and indicated to her as a “hotter” or “more attractive” woman that he knew, although Enein said that she could not remember the fine formulation. Antin said that Haley seemed “uncomfortable” because she tried to put the situation with Winstein.
During the interrogation, Winstein’s lawyer, Jennifer Bonjin, said that Enein had witnessed in the trial of Winstein for the year 2020. Then I wondered about two writers that were published after the first New York trial in 2020 – one of which touches the previous procedures that involve Winstein – in addition to many podcasts that she presented.
“You received many opportunities to appear in the press?” Bunin asked Entin.
Tensions escalated while Bonjin’s interrogation of Entin’s journalistic manifestations and how she was “excited” to meet lawyer Gloria Alared, who represented Haley in the trial of Winztein for the year 2020.
“My friend was raped, and I am not happy with that,” Eintene said at some point.
When Punjian asked why Halley advised to contact a lawyer instead of reporting the alleged sexual assault directly on the police, Antin replied, “The rape has a different stain in our society – and a different history,” adding that one should “take more careful steps.”
Winstein was accused of first -degree criminal sexual law against Haley in July 2006. He admitted that he was not guilty of the charge.
Winstein was previously convicted of misuse of the former TV production assistant in his trial in New York 2020, but this condemnation – along with actor Jessica Man – was later canceled.
After the lunch break, Christine Prixian – who was a friend of Haley in 2006 – witnessed a conversation he had while they were in East Hampton together in August or September of that year. According to Pressman, Haley confirmed her with alleged sexual assault and appeared “very moving” because she had narrated the accident.
Pressman recalled that the situation was “completely disgusting and terrible”, but he advised Haley not to go to the police.
“I said, Harvey Winstein is the king of New York. He is very strong; you are not.
During her interrogation by the defense, Bersman was asked whether she had ever suggested that Halley dating Winstein, who answered her, “Yes.” When clicking on it to determine when the suggestion was made, Brisman said she could not remember.
Winstein’s lawyer, Bongin, later asked Bersman if Halley had told her that she was dating Winstein before East Hampton’s trip. Breesman simply answered, “never.”
