Until “dawn” may not have the cultural spread of “Minecraft”, but the videos alive has a popular base for worship. Director David F. Sandberg and joint writing Gary Dobirman are not only the worshipers of the game but a logical team to treat adaptation. Sandberg performed the “Favorite Lights” horror and “Annabel: Creation” that was well received, which was also written by Dobram, while Dobram is not strange to adapt the popular horror properties, as he participated in writing both films “IT”.

Playing in the beloved sand box, “even dawn” is a new story in the largest universe – not a new edition or restart the story. Before its release, Sandberg and Dubirman dismantled the place of the film in the privilege, and some Easter eggs and potential sequences.

How did you discover how you want to adapt “until dawn” in a movie?

Dobram: It was a discussion with Blair Butler, my participation writer, at first, only talking about the game itself. It is very cinematic, so we didn’t want to try to re -create what we have already seen in a wonderful way on our opinions. So we talked about the characters that we can bring to a new story and see where we can take the game, and we really tend to inspire the types to which the game tends, and we see how we can use this to the film.

This film was full of practical effects. How did you fall on this decision?

Sandberg: My dream has always been to make a movie like this. I have always been a great horror lover, and it has always been a great practical effects and a kind of fans of latex blood. When we were in preparatory, we were going through groups and things like that, there was a lot of, “Well, this would be a visual impact, right?” It was like, “no, no, no, we can do it in this way,” and then, “well, but this The visual effects will be, right? “No, no, no.” No embarrassment in visual effects at all, but there was supposed to have a lot of things, as now.

What are the elements that you have known to be in the game fans?

Dobram: Dr. Hill was great, as a game fan, I felt we could learn more about her. Working with Peter Stormari, who was playing, was something I really hoped to do. The Psycho mask was another element in the game I thought it was so creative that we wanted to transfer it to the movie. Then only the spirit of the game itself: fears, excitement, fun. What I felt Play The game was something that we wanted to re -create with the movie.

Sandberg: Working with Peter was a dream for me as a Swedish colleague. It was always this Swedish champion, when you go to the cinemas and see “Fargo”, “Harmjdoun” and “Gurask Park”. I wrote a letter in Swedish talking about him, then he was all on the plane.

This is a super Gori movie. How did you descend, how do you want to be bloody and what do you want the viscera to look?

Sandberg: The game has really some violent deaths – this is one of the fun things about it is that you can restart them, take different choices and see different deaths. So I felt that we could not go less than the game because we had to raise what the team did. I was more than happy to go there because it is fun to do.

How many Easter eggs did you plan in the movie? Have they all found in early offers?

Dobram: It has been a limited audience yet, so I don’t know, but I don’t think they have all found them. What is fun in this is also that we planted some in the text, then planted David, then Jane Spence, the specified designer, presented it. So I don’t even know if I find them all, to be honest with you. It was like passing the stick with people inspired by the game and implanted Easter eggs, who are really enjoyable to search for it.

Is there a specific indication of the game you enjoy more?

Sandberg: I like that the restricted chair appears, which is a small part of the game, but we do something fun with it

Dobram: Yes, I love it a little. There are some things that Hill says, but I don’t want to spoil it.

You were brave to do Reddit Ama before the movie came out to speak with fans. How was the case to manage expectations before launching it?

Sandberg: The biggest thing is just trying to take out there it is not a new version of the game – it’s another boost in the universe. It happens in the same universe, so it is so more “Until dawn” instead of the same “until dawn.” This was the main thing you are trying to go out there, so people don’t go to expect something and get something else. We wanted to do something that fans can enjoy and see all the things that link it with the game, but also something that people who did not play the game can enter and enjoy it without feeling lost. I think we pulled it.

Dobram: I love engaging with fans. I am one of them, so I know what is like seeing the leaks of a graduation movie and you are like, “Why did they go with that?” Or “What is happening here?” So I expect that and I hope that I can answer their questions in a satisfactory way, but also try to remind them that I am coming from this from the point of view of fans. You know I love the game. So, it is a great opportunity to take something you love and try to expand and make it part of the greatest privilege. We hope to get a new game of it.

Are there any discussions about doing a game with these characters?

Dobram: I spoke to the developers. I think there are talks about another game, and continuously through the writing that we were talking to the developers, and we see what was going on in their minds of the world’s largest traditions. It was a great conversation, so I hope they will do the game.

At the end of this movie, the door is left open to complement. Have you talked about ideas about what might seem?

Sandberg: I am always like, “I want to make this movie and re -evaluate my life and sleep forever.” But you can easily make more of them because there are more horror and parking that you can enjoy. You can only have new letters or the same characters in different places. There is a lot that you can do, but now, let’s only rest.

Dobram: I was working with David on anything. What we want to try is not to make video games here and then movies here. It will be great if they are all part of the same soup, so they don’t feel they are on separate paths. They are actually on the same path, pushing the story more and more. This will be my hope.

Gary, you are working to restart “Gargailes”. It is a Disney feature, but you tend to work on very dark projects. Do you feel that this will be more evil than people expect?

Dobram: Oh, yes, another piece loved by IP. This new repetition of “Gargailes” … The show was very dark in that it was chain, and it was a mature thing, it was an iParry and the story was very epic. I hope it is very similar to the atmosphere I got when you were seeing it again in the late 1990s. I liked it half an hour of TV, and fell into their world. I hope we achieve it. It is very fun, though – it is exciting.
